About
Paragliding Events provides a free platform to explore different paragliding events from all over the world, from hike & fly competitions to local demo days and the biggest testivals, in one calendar that the community fills together.
How does it work?
01
Users
Anyone can browse events without an account. With a free account you can add events, set up email Alerts and show on your profile which organisations and brands you’re connected to: as Administrator, Instructor or Assistant instructor of an organisation, or as Administrator or Team pilot of a brand.
02
Events
Every event has its own page with dates, location, type, disciplines, license levels and fee. An event can be linked to one organisation (the organiser), several brands (e.g. a testival’s participating brands) and its instructors. You can share an event, add it to your calendar, or report it when something’s wrong. Past events stay on the site as an archive: no longer in the calendar, but still on the pages of their organisation, brands and instructors.
03
Organisations
Clubs, schools, associations and competition organisers. An organisation has a page with its details, social media, its people and all its events. Each organisation has a type (Club, School, Association, Competition organiser or Other) that you can filter on.
04
Brands
Wing, harness and equipment manufacturers. A brand’s page shows its details, social media, team pilots and every event it takes part in, like demo days and testivals.
Administrators
Every organisation and brand is managed by its administrators. Whoever creates an organisation or brand becomes its first administrator, and administrators can add other users as administrators.
Administrators can edit the organisation’s or brand’s page and connect their own website or calendar as an event feed, so new events appear here automatically. For events, the organisation comes first:
- An event with an organisation can be edited by that organisation’s administrators (also events added by others), not by the administrators of the brands taking part.
- An event without an organisation can be edited by the administrators of its brands.
- The user who added an event can always edit it.
When someone who isn’t an administrator adds an event to an organisation that has administrators, the event waits for their approval before it’s shown. Administrators get an email about it (and a reminder if it’s still waiting after a few days), and find it at the top of My events.
Under My organisations and My brands, administrators also find statistics: how often their page and events are viewed, how often their website is clicked, how many events are added to a calendar, and how many users follow them in their alerts.
Organisations and brands can also exist without an administrator, for example when someone adds an event for a club that isn’t on the site yet. Their page then shows Register as an administrator, so the club or brand itself can take over later.
Users, instructors and team pilots
Every logged-in user can add events and link them to an organisation and to brands. My events, in the menu under your username, lists every event you can edit.
Users can connect themselves to organisations as instructor or assistant instructor (whichever matches the pilot type on their profile), and to brands as team pilot. These connections are shown on their profile and on the organisation’s or brand’s page, and instructors can be listed on the events they teach at. On events and organisation pages, assistant instructors are listed together with the instructors.
A profile is only visible to others once its user is connected to something: to an event as instructor, to an organisation as administrator or instructor, or to a brand as administrator or team pilot.

Frequently asked questions
Your account
How do I sign up?
Click Log in at the top right and choose No account yet? Create one. Pick a username, fill in your email address and choose a password (at least 8 characters, with a capital letter, a small letter, a number and a special character). We’ll email you a 6-digit code: enter it on the page to confirm your email address, and you’re logged in straight away.
A short welcome tour then helps you set up your profile (about you, your paragliding experience and optionally two-factor authentication), and, if you like, add your organisation or brand and a first event. The only thing you need to fill in is whether you’re a pilot, assistant instructor or instructor; you can skip the rest and add it later. That’s it!
I signed up, but didn’t receive a code. Why not?
First check your spam or junk folder, and that you typed your email address correctly. The email usually arrives within a few minutes. Closed the page before entering the code? Just log in: you’ll be asked for the code there, and can send yourself a new one.
If you already have an account with this email address, creating a new one doesn’t send a code. For your privacy, the site doesn’t say whether an address already has an account, so nobody can use the sign-up form to find out who’s a member. Just log in with your existing account instead. Don’t remember the password? Click Forgot your password? on the log in page and we’ll email you a link to choose a new one.
Still nothing? Use Send a new code, but wait a minute between tries (to prevent misuse, only a few emails can be sent to one address in a short time), or contact us.
What do I do if I forgot my password?
On the Log in page, click Forgot your password? and enter your email address. You’ll receive an email with a link to choose a new password. No email? Check your spam folder, and make sure you use the address you signed up with.
How can I delete my account?
Open the menu under your username (top right), choose Settings, go to Configuration and click Delete account. After you confirm, your profile, your alerts and all your connections to events, organisations and brands are removed permanently. Events, organisations and brands you created stay online, so others can keep using them.
How do I change my password?
Open the menu under your username, choose Settings and go to Security. Enter your current password and your new one twice. Forgot your password? Use Forgot your password? on the Log in page instead.
How do I protect my account with two-factor authentication?
Open the menu under your username, choose Settings, go to Security and click Set up two-factor authentication. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password) and enter the code it shows. From then on, you enter a code from the app each time you log in, so nobody can use your account with just your password. You can turn it off again on the same page.
Who can see my profile?
Your profile only becomes visible to others once you’re connected to something: to an event as instructor, to an organisation as administrator or instructor, or to a brand as administrator or team pilot. Until then, only you can see it (clicking your username at the top right opens it, with a note that others can’t see it yet).
Once it’s visible, it shows your username, picture, country, pilot type, licenses, languages, description, social media and your connections to organisations and brands. Your date of birth and email address are never shown to others.
Instructors can hide their profile under Settings > Configuration once they have no upcoming events. Hiding it also removes you from the past events you’re listed on.
Can I see fees in my own currency?
Yes. Fees are shown in the currency the organiser uses, with the amount in your own currency underneath. Choose your currency under Settings > Configuration; the fee filter on the home page uses it too. Amounts are converted with the daily exchange rates of the European Central Bank, so they’re an indication: the organiser’s fee is what you pay.
Events
Can I add an event even if I’m not the one organising it?
Yes, please do! The more events are on the site, the more useful it becomes for everyone. Use Add event and fill in what you know; the Prefill from a link button can read most of the details from the event’s own website.
You can link the event to its organisation, even if nobody manages that organisation here yet: pick it in the Organisation field, or create it first. As long as an organisation has no administrator, its page shows Register as an administrator. The real organiser can use that later to claim the organisation, after which they can edit all its events, including the one you added.
If the organisation already has administrators, your event waits for their approval before it’s shown on the site. They’re notified straight away, and can edit and publish it.
How do I edit an event that I created in the past?
Open the menu under your username and choose My events. It lists every event you can edit, upcoming and past, with an Edit button. You can also click Edit event at the top right of the event’s own page.
Past events stay on the site: they’re no longer in the calendar, but you’ll still find them under Past in My events and on the pages of their organisation and brands.
Who can edit an event?
The user who added it and, depending on how the event is linked:
- With an organisation: the administrators of that organisation. The administrators of the brands taking part can’t edit it: the organiser is in charge.
- Without an organisation: the administrators of the brands linked to the event, for example a brand’s own demo day.
If the organiser isn’t on the site yet, add the organisation anyway: once someone claims it with Register as an administrator, they can edit its events.
How do I add an event to my own calendar?
On the event’s page, click Add to calendar at the top right and choose Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook.com, or an .ics file for any other calendar app.
How do I share an event with my friends?
Use the share buttons under the event’s title. WhatsApp and Facebook open with the link filled in. Instagram and TikTok only allow sharing from their own apps: on your phone the button opens the share menu, where you can pick the app; on a computer the link is copied, so you can paste it in a story, post or message. Copy link copies the link for anywhere else.
Something is wrong with an event. What can I do?
If you can edit the event (see below), just fix it. Otherwise, click Report this event at the bottom of its page and tell us what’s wrong: wrong or outdated information, cancelled, a duplicate, spam or something else. Our team reviews every report and fixes or removes the event if needed. You don’t need an account to report an event.
Can I get an email when new events are added?
Yes, with Alerts in the menu at the top. Set up one or more alerts, each with your own filters (for example SIV courses in Europe, or all competitions in your country) and how often you want to hear about new events: instantly, daily, weekly or monthly. You only get an email when there’s something new. An alert can also follow organisations, brands or instructors: click Get notified of new events on their page to set one up in one go.
Where do the competitions from civlcomps.org come from?
Upcoming paragliding competitions listed on civlcomps.org are imported automatically every week. They show a short notice with a link to the original page until someone edits them here. Organisers can claim their organisation and then update these events like any other.
I just uploaded a new event to CIVL. When will it appear on this website?
Within a week. Competitions on civlcomps.org are imported automatically once a week, on Monday morning, so a competition you add on CIVL appears here after the next Monday import. Only upcoming paragliding competitions are imported.
The organiser on CIVL is linked as the event’s organisation (an existing organisation with the same name, or a new one). Changes on CIVL, like new dates, are also picked up each week, as long as nobody edited the event here. Can’t wait? You can always add the event yourself.
I just uploaded a new event to my own website. When will it appear on this website?
If your organisation or brand has connected its website as an event feed, within a week: every feed is checked once a week. To import it right away, go to your organisation’s or brand’s page, open Event feeds and click Check now. If the feed is set to wait for review, the event appears as soon as an administrator publishes it.
Without a feed, events on your own website aren’t picked up automatically: add the event with Add event (paste the link to fill in the details), or set up a feed (see below).
Why did an event disappear?
Events whose title says they’re cancelled are removed every night. Events that have ended aren’t removed, but no longer appear in the calendar: you’ll still find them on the pages of their organisation, brands and instructors. Events added to an organisation by someone else, or by an organisation’s feed, can wait for approval by its administrators before they’re visible. And our team removes events that turn out to be spam or incorrect after they’ve been reported.
Organisations and brands
How do I become the administrator of my organisation or brand?
If you created it, you’re its administrator already. If it exists but has no administrator yet, open its page and click Register as an administrator. Please only do this if you’re entitled to act on its behalf.
Once an organisation or brand has an administrator, only its administrators can add new ones: they can do that in the organisation’s or brand’s edit form, where they can also change its logo, description, website, contact details and social media.
How do I show that I’m an instructor or team pilot?
Go to Settings (in the menu under your username) and add a connection: pick an organisation to be listed as its instructor, or a brand and the role Team pilot. You’ll then be listed on its page, and it shows on your public profile.
Whether you’re connected as instructor or assistant instructor follows the pilot type on your profile, so set that first; pilots can’t be connected as instructor. On events and organisation pages, assistant instructors are listed together with the instructors; your own profile shows you’re an assistant instructor.
What statistics can I see for my organisation or brand?
As an administrator, open My organisations or My brands (in the menu under your username) and click Statistics. For the last 7, 30 or 90 days or 12 months, you see how often your page was viewed and your website clicked, how many users follow you in their alerts, and for each of your events its views, website clicks and how often it was added to a calendar. The same numbers per event are shown under My events. Everything is counted anonymously.
Which emails do administrators get?
When someone else adds an event to your organisation, when a check of your event feed finds new events that wait for your review, and a reminder when an event has been waiting for your approval for a number of days (5 unless you change it). Choose which ones you want under Settings > Notifications.
Automated event feeds
How do I set up an automated feed for new events from my own website?
Feeds are available to the administrators of an organisation or brand. Open your organisation’s or brand’s page and click Event feeds, then Connect a website or calendar.
- Paste the address of the page that lists your events, or the address of your calendar feed (for example a Google Calendar’s Public address in iCal format).
- Click Test to see which events are found.
- Optionally set default values (type of event, discipline, license levels, special features, fee, country, city, instructors, a banner image and language) for details your website doesn’t mention.
- Choose whether new events are published straight away or wait for your review.
- When connecting a new feed, check the list of events found: you can leave events out or edit them before publishing them all at once.
After that, the feed is checked every week: new events are added, changed events are updated (unless you edited them here), and you’re told about events that disappear from your website. Check now runs a check straight away.
My automated feed isn’t working. Why not?
We read your page the way a search engine does, by its structure (no AI). This is what we look for, in this order:
- A calendar feed (iCal/.ics), like a public Google, Outlook or Apple calendar. The calendar must be public: a private or secret address doesn’t work.
- Event data for search engines (schema.org), which most event plugins and website builders add automatically: The Events Calendar, Events Manager or Modern Events Calendar for WordPress, Wix Events, Squarespace events and others.
- A link to an iCal export or an embedded Google Calendar on the page.
- A list or table of events, where each event has a title, dates and a country close together, or on the page the title links to. Dates may be written in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish or Italian (like “18 – 31 Oct 2026” or “26 sep - 03 okt”). A town is optional, but puts the event on the map.
Common reasons it doesn’t work, and what to change:
- The address is your home page instead of the page that lists your events. Use the events or courses page itself.
- The events are loaded by a script or a widget after the page opens (some booking systems and page builders do this), so they aren’t in the page itself. Use the widget’s own iCal/calendar export instead, or add an events plugin that publishes event data.
- The page needs a login, or blocks automatic visitors. The page must be publicly visible.
- The country is missing. Mention it with each event (or on the linked event page), or set a default country in the feed’s settings.
- Dates are incomplete, such as a month without days, or dates far away from the title. Put the title and full dates next to each other.
- Only past events are listed. Past events and events with “cancelled” in the title are skipped.
You can also add lines to an event’s description on your website to fill in details: Discipline: XC, SIV, Event type: Course, License: IPPI 4, FAI category: 2 and Fee: € 450. They’re used for the event and removed from the text. After a change, use Test or Check now to see the result. If a check fails, the feed shows the reason.
About the site
Is the website free to use?
Yes, completely free, for pilots, schools, clubs and brands alike. We built Paragliding Events out of a personal need: interesting events were scattered over dozens of club websites, Facebook groups and newsletters, and too often we only heard about a great testival or SIV course after it had taken place.
We hope the community will start feeding it with events, so we can all find each other more easily: pilots discover new destinations and people to fly with, and organisers reach pilots beyond their own circle. Every event you add helps the whole community.
Does the site track me?
No. We count visits anonymously to see how the site is used: which pages are viewed, and clicks on links to other websites and on Add to calendar. No cookies, no IP addresses and no user ids are stored. Organisations and brands only see totals for their own pages and events.
When something goes wrong on a page, we record the error and the type of browser, so we can fix it; again without anything that identifies you.
Everything about your personal data is in our privacy policy.
Know an event that’s missing?
